Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night can stop the mail. But a dog bite may slow it down.
More than 6,700 U.S. Postal Service employees were attacked by dogs in 2016 across the country. The service releases a list of the top dog attack cities each year.
The Postal Service warned that if a letter carrier feels threatened by a dog, the owner may be asked to get their mail at the post office instead of getting delivery.

A bite-prone dog could cost a homeowner big bucks. Dog bites and other dog-related injuries comprised a third of homeowner insurance liability claims in 2016, according to the Insurance Information Institute and State Farm.
